2. JOB PURPOSE
Lecturer II is the first independent CAM academic rank, expected to own undergraduate courses, lead supervised clinical/practical sessions, initiate research, and translate CAM knowledge into safe, evidence-informed health solutions.
This job’s purpose is to independently teach undergraduate CAM courses, initiate credible research, contribute to innovation and community health impact, and support academic governance in line with UAST and NUC standards.
3. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Teaching & Clinical Leadership:
- Independently teach assigned CAM courses; design course outlines and assessments compliant with C-CMAS.
- Lead supervised practicals/clinics under approved protocols and referral pathways.
2. Research & Scholarship:
- Conduct independent or collaborative research; publish scholarly outputs; present at conferences.
- Contribute to funded/applied research (phytotherapy safety, outcomes research, nutrition & lifestyle interventions).
3. Innovation & Community Impact:
- Lead/co-lead community health programmes, product safety audits, digital health education, or integrative care pilots.
4. Academic Service & QA:
- Serve on committees; support curriculum review and accreditation.
4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Complementary & Alternative Medicine/Integrative Health or Senate-approved cognate with demonstrable CAM focus.
A minimum of two (2) publications, at least one (1) in a peer-reviewed journal.
Declared innovations (validated protocols, products under NAFDAC pathways, educational tools) are advantageous.
Active membership of recognised CAM/integrative health professional bodies (status declared).
4.1 Academic Qualifications (Mandatory)
PhD in Complementary & Alternative Medicine/Integrative Health or Senate-approved cognate with demonstrable CAM focus.
5. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least three (3) years post-PhD or equivalent academic/practice experience.
